The Oyster Worldview: The Unique Appeal of the Oyster Perpetual 36 Watch
The Oyster Perpetual 36 watch, with its classic combination of a blue dial and an Oyster bracelet, vividly showcases Rolex’s exquisite craftsmanship and unwavering pursuit of superior quality in the realm of watchmaking. From the meticulous crafting of the dial to the strict selection of the case material and the ingenious design of the bracelet, every detail endows this watch with unique charm and outstanding performance.
Blue Dial: The Subtle Integration of Exceptional Craftsmanship and High Technology
Crafting the blue dial of the Oyster Perpetual series is a highly challenging and meticulous task. The painting process, as the initial step, must be carried out with great caution in a highly controlled environment to completely prevent dust and other contaminants from affecting the quality of the dial. On the brass plate at the bottom of the dial, six layers of paint will be carefully applied layer by layer, ensuring that each layer is uniform to create a smooth surface.
The final crucial step is to apply a glossy oil-based paint and conduct an extremely fine polishing process. After this series of rigorous and complex procedures, the dial exhibits an exceptional dazzling luster and a deep, captivating blue hue. Subsequently, different inscriptions will be accurately transferred onto the dial, and the hour markers and the crown will be meticulously inlaid by highly skilled craftsmen by hand. Every detail reflects Rolex’s ingenuity. The completed flawless new dial will be precisely installed onto the movement during the watch assembly stage, becoming a major highlight and feature of the watch.
Oystersteel: An Outstanding Example of High Corrosion Resistance
Rolex’s choice of Oystersteel for forging the steel watch case fully demonstrates the brand’s stringent requirements for materials and its firm commitment to quality. Oystersteel falls within the category of 904L steel. This alloy, due to its excellent properties, is widely used in many high-end fields such as high technology, aviation, and the chemical industry, and its remarkable high corrosion resistance is well-known.
Oystersteel not only has extremely strong durability but also emits a dazzling shine after careful polishing. Even in extremely harsh environmental conditions, it can still perfectly maintain its beautiful appearance and will not lose its luster or be damaged due to factors such as corrosion. This enables the Oyster Perpetual watch to showcase its noble and durable characteristics in various situations.
Oyster Bracelet: The Perfect Unity of Style and Function
The Oyster bracelet is a masterpiece of Rolex’s ingenious design, perfectly integrating aesthetic style, practical function, and exquisite technology, presenting a delicate and charming style and temperament. Since its introduction in the late 1930s, this metal bracelet, due to its classic design consisting of three wide and flat links, has extremely high sturdiness and stability, and has always been the most widely used and popular bracelet in the Oyster series.
The Oyster bracelet of the Oyster Perpetual watch is equipped with a specially designed Oysterclasp. This design not only complements the watch aesthetically, greatly enhancing the watch’s appearance, but also provides reliable and stable fixation in terms of function, ensuring the stability and comfort of the watch when worn. It fully reflects Rolex’s humanized design concept and high emphasis on details.
